Hunter Nelson
Current Shows
Hunter Nelson is a writer, actor, improviser, and illustrator who grew up in Houston, TX. He has studied improv under Will Hines, Brandon Gardner, Michael Delaney, Kevin Hines, Shannon O'Neill and Anthony King, among many others.
Hunter's comics appear regularly in the free Brooklyn quarterly "Overflow Magazine." He also wrote and produced "Who Loves You, Baby?," a surreal tribute to long-dead TV star Telly Savalas, which ran at the SoHo Playhouse for a year.
Lately, Hunter has been thrilled and comforted to be playing with the UCB Lloyd Team Spooky Ghost; every member is a close personal friend of his, if you can believe that. In the past, Hunter was involved with such storied UCB experiments as "Vantage Point","The Second Macroscene (The Macrocrag)" and "12 Angry Improvisers". SMIRK, Rafael, and Sike are just a few of his highly successful, aerodynamic, and partially-defunct indie groups.
Hunter co-produces and appears in The IMPROVISED Play - a show where terribly important, canon-ready works of American theater are generated every week - at the SoHo Playhouse.
