Ben Schwartz is an Emmy award winning writer/actor from NY who currently resides in LA. He plays Clyde Oberholt on the Showtime show "House of Lies" as well as Jean-Ralphio on NBCs "Parks and Recreation."
He has written features for Imagine and Universal as well as a re-make of the movie Soapdish for Paramount. He was a staff writer for the third season of Adult Swims Robot Chicken and co-wrote Hugh Jackmans recession musical opening for the 81st Annual Academy Awards which won Ben an Emmy. He has three books out with Harper Collins- Grandmas Dead: Breaking Bad News with Baby Animals, Why is Daddy in a Dress: Asking Awkward Questions with Baby Animals and a third book to come out in October.
He started as a freelance writer, faxing in jokes to Saturday Night Lives Weekend Update and the Late Show with David Lettermans monologue. He has a website devoted to the jokes that didnt make it to air as well as other short films he wrote, directed and acted in - RejectedJokes.com.
Hes performed at the UCBT since 2003 and has been a part of countless improv and sketch shows including the sketch/improv team Hot Sauce with Adam Pally and Gil Ozeri which performed at the 2007 Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival. He currently performs in LA every Sunday at 11pm with the improv team Shitty Jobs and the second sunday of every month at 9:30pm with Hot Sauce.
