Ellena Chmielewski

Ellena Chmielewski is a performer/writer/director who has been performing at the UCB Theatre since 2010. Standards & Practices, the play she co-wrote (with John Zachary Townsend) and directed, is currently running at UCB Chelsea. She has been a member of the Harold Teams: Dance Break, The Opera, CAPTCHA and Johnny Romance, and her Advanced Study Performance credits include The Macroscene and Improvised Philip K. Dick. She has also performed improv all over the country with her indie teams Tesla and Boy Butter.
Ellena has a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a PhD from nowhere, much to her grandparents' chagrin. She is originally from Cleveland, OH and (perhaps consequently) is constantly in awe of everything.
